H10 Conquistador stands on the seafront in Playa de las Americas, with direct access to the promenade and the Golden Mile behind it. Children aged 4 to 12 have the Daisy Club, teenagers the Teenclub, and the Despacio centre offers sea-water treatments. HD Parque Cristobal is a family resort of about 150 bungalows set in gardens, one row back from the beach on Avenida Rafael Puig. Children have a kids' club and three pools of their own, and the Kid Suites sit closest to them. The grounds are enclosed, so children can move between the pools and the playground on their own. Playa de las Americas is the busiest resort in the south. The Golden Mile on Avenida de las Americas is its promenade of shops and restaurants. Below it, Playa de Troya is the central beach, with sunbeds and lifeguards, and Playa del Camison sits in front of the Mare Nostrum hotels.
The Veronicas strip on Avenida Rafael Puig is the main nightlife area in the south of Tenerife. Bars and clubs fill up from about ten at night and stay open until morning. For a show rather than a club, the Piramide de Arona theatre hosts flamenco and variety nights.
Golf Las Americas lies on the hill above the resort, and Siam Park is just over the line in Costa Adeje. Both are a short drive from any hotel here.
Part of Las Americas is pedestrian. Where a hotel sits on a street no vehicle may enter, the driver stops at the nearest point allowed, usually a short walk from reception.
The bus from Tenerife South Airport to Las Americas runs direct and often, but it stops on the main roads, and part of the resort is pedestrian, so the last stretch to your hotel is on foot with the cases. A taxi from the rank is quick, but a family of five or a group may need two cars.
