About Santa Cruz

The capital

Santa Cruz is the capital of Tenerife and its main port. Plaza de Espana, the largest square in the city, was built in 1929 where the castle of San Cristobal once stood, and what remains of the castle lies beneath it. Parque Garcia Sanabria and the Rambla are a short walk inland.

The Carnival

The Carnival of Santa Cruz is a festival of international tourist interest. Every February or March it fills the streets around Plaza de Espana with parades and music. It is one of the busiest weeks to travel, so book the transfer early.

Airport to the cruise terminal

Joining a ship at the Santa Cruz cruise port? Send your flight and boarding time, and the driver takes your group and the cases straight to the terminal. On the way back we collect you at the quayside.

Taxi, bus or private transfer to Santa Cruz?

  • Bus or taxi from Tenerife South Airport to Santa Cruz

The bus from Tenerife South Airport to Santa Cruz runs direct only a few times a day, and it stops on the main roads into the city, so the last stretch to your hotel is on foot or by city bus. A taxi from the rank runs on the meter for the whole drive up the coast, and a family of five or a group may need two cars.

  • Private transfers, Tenerife South to Santa Cruz

One minibus for up to nine, from €160 for your whole group, with the price agreed before you fly. The driver takes the motorway up the east coast and stops at your hotel door in the city.

Santa Cruz to Tenerife South Airport

Your Santa Cruz airport transfer works the other way too: the same price and the same driver standard, collected from your door at the time you choose. We recommend being at the airport three hours before your flight.
